Fully Managed Cloud Hosting On Google Cloud

Everything we make runs on Google Cloud, and everything we operate is run by the team that built it. Hosting is not sold on its own here. It is the layer under everything we build: our own software, and the custom SaaS applications we build to order.

What Runs HereNow Live

Our Own Software Runs Here First

Valacia™, our one page website builder, runs on the shared Valacia Platform, backed by Google Cloud. So does every site it generates. Each customer is logically isolated from every other. The same Google Cloud foundation sits under every custom SaaS application.

A custom SaaS application we build to order runs differently. It gets its own dedicated, isolated Google Cloud project on Google Firebase: single-tenant, owned by your company, under your own Google billing account. We build it there from the start, because its server-side functions run inside that project. Some applications also need a phone app. We build that as a mobile app extension, and it connects back to the same system. After the application is built, you choose. We operate it on the Managed Service, or you run it yourselves.

The Layer Everything We Build Runs On

Certificates, scaling, backups and performance are what a business without a technical team gets left to watch. We watch them instead. That is our job, not yours.

The team that designs and builds your software is the team that runs it. There is nobody in between to chase.

Served From A Global CDN

Your application is served from a global CDN on Google Cloud's network, close to each user. It scales automatically as demand rises, whether ten people sign in or ten thousand.

HTTPS Always On

Google provisions and renews your SSL certificate automatically. Renewal is not a date anyone on your side has to remember.

Global Speed With UK-Region Enquiries

Your application's static files are edge-cached worldwide for speed everywhere. Anything submitted through its forms is processed in Google Cloud's London (UK) region.

Isolated By Design

Every custom SaaS application runs in its own dedicated, isolated Google Cloud project on Google Firebase. One project per business, never a slice of a shared server. The project is owned by your company.

Built Static-First

Everything we build is static-first, with pre-rendered pages. The page is already made before anyone asks for it. The application itself runs behind it. This site is built the same way.

Monitored And Managed

For an application we operate, we monitor whether it is online. If something breaks, we respond. And we set up a budget alert and a spend cap in your project, so you find out about a rising bill from us and not from Google.

More Than One Line Of Defence

Backups only matter on the day something has already gone wrong.

  1. Code Always Recoverable

Every application can be rebuilt from its source and redeployed to a fresh environment - independent of any single point of failure.

  2. Data Backed Up

Every application we operate has managed backups on Google Cloud, so recovery starts from a recent copy.

  3. DNS Handled For You

We manage the web records for you, issue and renew certificates and resolve problems, and we take care not to disturb your email.

Why Google Cloud

The Same Foundation We Trust For Our Own Software

Our own products run here. Google Cloud gives a small company a global network, automatic scaling and a platform somebody else patches. We wanted all three.

How a visitor reaches a globally served Google Cloud site: visitor to global CDN to the SSL-secured static site served worldwide, with a backup vault; contact enquiries handled in Google Cloud's London (UK) region.VISITORGLOBAL CDNSERVED GLOBALLYGOOGLE CLOUDSSLUK ENQUIRIESBACKUPS

There are no servers, certificates or control panels for you to look after. You get software that works, loads quickly and stays up. We monitor it. The platform underneath is one Google itself commits to keeping available, and one UK team keeps yours that way every month. We publish no uptime percentage of our own, because we will not quote a figure we cannot show you the measurement for.

Every application we host is engineered for the same foundation: static-first, served from a global CDN. That is why we can tune it, secure it and keep it patched. Your application lives in a Google Cloud project your company owns. None of it runs on infrastructure we control.

The Responsibility Split

Who Runs What

On a custom SaaS application, three parties have a job. None of them overlaps.

Google Runs The Platform

The data centres, the global network, the hosting platform and the SSL certificates are Google's to run, patch and keep available. It is the same infrastructure Google's own services use. Neither of us looks after a server.

You Own The Project

Your Google Cloud project is registered to your company, on your own Google billing account, before we write any code. We set it up together. Google bills your project's usage to you directly. The project, the code and the data are yours whether or not we operate it.

We Work Under Access You Grant

Our team builds and supports your application inside your project under IAM, Google Cloud's identity and access management. You grant the permissions. You can review them, narrow them or remove them at any time. On the Managed Service we operate it there too. Our fees are the only money that comes to us.

Your Project, Your Code, Your Domain

There is no lock-in here and no exit fee. Your domain stays registered to you. Your code is yours and is never withheld. Your application already lives in a Google Cloud project your company owns, so if you leave, the software stays exactly where it is. If we operate it on the Managed Service, you can end that at any time. The application keeps running in your project, and we hand operations over at no charge. Our access is yours to narrow or remove whenever you choose.

Hosting Made Only For The Software We Build

That means Valacia and the one page websites it generates, and the custom SaaS applications we build to order. All of it is built for one foundation. Knowing that foundation properly is what lets us host it, secure it and tune it. The same team runs our own devices, identity and email in house - see Linko Vectis Digital.

That foundation is the same for every project: Google Cloud for hosting and delivery, serverless functions for server-side work, managed databases with automatic backups. The platform is the same on every project, so we know exactly what we are hosting. That is why we can publish a fixed monthly price.

One Optimised Stack Every Time

The same stack every time: static-first, pre-rendered to fast, light HTML, deployed on Google Cloud. Every project we take on is built that way, whatever it does.

Server-Side Work Where It Belongs

Some things have to happen on the server: processing a contact form, handling a submission. We use managed serverless functions for that work, isolated from the rest of the stack. Our own enquiry form works that way.

A Database Only Where You Need One

When a project needs to store data, we use a managed, scalable database on Google Cloud. Google runs and patches it. Plenty of applications do without one, so we do not add one.

When You Need Serious Reporting

Some projects genuinely need it. Google Cloud's large-scale data tools are there to handle that work. They raise the hosting cost, and most applications do not need them. We only fit them where the reporting justifies the bill.

What It Costs

What Running Your Software Costs

Every figure below is published and is the total payable to us.

What This Fee Covers

Websites are different: they run on Valacia, our one page website builder, priced on its own tiers - Starter £0, Pro £9, Business £19 a month - on the Valacia Platform.

The Managed Service applies to a custom SaaS application we operate in your own Google Cloud project. The application itself is priced on the custom SaaS development page and confirmed on a written quotation before any work begins.

Your Google Cloud project is billed by Google, to you, directly, at Google's own rates. The Managed Service is our fee for operating the application.

Minor updates are part of this fee. Larger pieces of development are priced separately, on the same written basis.

Indicative pricing, confirmed on a written quotation. All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and are the total fees payable to us; your project's Google Cloud usage is billed to you by Google directly.

Questions Answered

Common Managed Cloud Hosting Questions

The Platform

What Is Managed Cloud Hosting?

It is hosting where we take care of everything for you. We build your software cloud-native and host it on Google Cloud. Then we handle the certificates, the global delivery, uptime monitoring and backups. You never log into a server. That is what "fully managed" means here: hosting and maintenance in one package.

What Platform Does A Custom SaaS Application Actually Run On?

Google Firebase, part of Google Cloud. Every custom SaaS application we build runs in its own dedicated, isolated Google Cloud project on Firebase, Google's managed application platform. It uses serverless functions for server-side work and a managed database where the project needs one. We build on one platform because we know it deeply. Your software lives in your company's own Google Cloud project, on Firebase, billed through your own Google account from the first day of the build.

Where Is My Data Stored?

Static files are served from a global CDN on Google Cloud's network, edge-cached worldwide. They load quickly for every user. Anything submitted through a form we build is processed in Google Cloud's London (UK) region. Enquiry messages are then delivered by a third-party email provider. That provider may process them outside the UK, under the safeguards set out in our Privacy Notice. For a custom SaaS application, where its stored data lives is agreed at scoping and set out on your quotation.

Do You Back Up My Data Or Only Rely On Google?

Your code lives in version control. It can be rebuilt and redeployed at any time. Every application we operate has managed backups on Google Cloud, so recovery starts from a recent copy. Google keeps its own managed copies of the platform too.

What We Host

Is Hosting Available On Its Own, Or For Software You Did Not Build?

No, on both counts. Hosting here is the run-and-operate layer of the software we design and build: Valacia and the custom SaaS applications we build to order. Everything we build is engineered for one known foundation from the first line of code. That is why we can host it, secure it and tune it properly. If you want your software run to this standard, we design and build it first.

How Is A Website Hosted Differently?

A website is Valacia. Every site it generates runs on the shared Valacia Platform, backed by Google Cloud. The tiers start at free, and hosting is part of the product. A custom SaaS application is the other case. It gets its own dedicated, isolated Google Cloud project: single-tenant, owned by your company, tuned for you alone.

Are Valacia Customers Kept Separate From Each Other?

Yes. Each Valacia site runs logically separated from every other one on the shared platform - its pages, its content and anything it collects. If you want a dedicated, single-tenant Google Cloud project of your own, that is a custom SaaS application.

Cost, Ownership And Leaving

What Does It Cost To Run A Custom SaaS Application?

The Managed Service is from £199 a month, if we operate the application for you. That covers hosting, monitoring, backups and patching. The exact fee is set on your written quotation, and every price we publish is the total payable. Your project's infrastructure is billed to you directly by Google, at Google's own prices. Websites are priced separately: Valacia runs on its own tiers, from free.

Who Pays Google For The Infrastructure?

You do, directly. Google bills the infrastructure usage straight to you, at its own rates, on your own Google billing account. We never resell it or mark it up. Our fees are the only money that comes to us: the application, the Scoping Sprint if you take one, and the Managed Service if we operate it for you. We set up a budget alert and a spend cap in your project.

Who Runs The Application After It Is Built?

Whichever of us you prefer. On the Managed Service we operate it for you, in your own Google Cloud project, from £199 a month. If you would rather run it yourselves, everything stays where it is. The project, the billing account and the code were always yours, and we hand operations over at no charge. Either way, management starts after the application is built. It is never bundled into the price of building it.

Do You Offer An Uptime Guarantee?

Not a contractual one. Your software runs on Google Cloud, whose hosting platform publishes its own availability commitment. We monitor whether your software is online, so issues are caught and acted on quickly. We do not sell an uptime "guarantee" backed by small service credits. Real availability depends on the whole chain: the platform, your domain and DNS, and email delivery. A few pounds of credit would never reflect a day's lost enquiries. If you ever need a formal availability arrangement for a larger project, we are happy to discuss what is realistic.

Am I Locked In If I Host With You?

No. The project is your company's from the start, and your domain stays registered in your name. Your code is yours. If we operate it on the Managed Service, you can end that whenever you like, and the application carries on running in your project.

Managed For You

Talk To Us About Managed Hosting

We design and build your software, then run it on the same foundation as our own. It lives in a Google Cloud project your company owns. That does not change. If we operate it for you, that is the Managed Service, from £199 a month. Every project is scoped and confirmed on a written quotation before any work begins.
